Goerge Wash. Forest trip to Ride ATVs (Sunday, 2-22) - February 17, 2009, 10:19 AM

I got a new ATV and want to go to George Washington Forest to ride around. On the top of this mountain on this road there is a place to ride. Has lots of trails. It's pretty rocky but fun. If anyone has a better place, I'm open.

I plan on getting there late morning and ride around for a while.

Check the website cause they have been shut down for the annual trail cleaning for a couple weeks now. I'm totally in if you're up for meeting new faces. Hey they even cleared that nasty trail connecting the two parking lots by Edinburg Gap. No more boulders, lol. Too bad I already murdered my suspension.

Never mind, Taskers Gap is closed until March 16, 2009.

Good catch Overboard.

Anyone else know where we can go? Preferably legally.

Haha.. legal? Nope, good luck. I used to have some great places to ride but they have all either been built on or they're hot now.

Shit you ever had three PWC police roll up on you on quads in the woods before.. I thought everything was getting impounded that day. I play by the rules now but I'll let ya know if I hear of a spot. The only other one I knew of just got shut down last weekend. Best bet is to make friends somewhere in the country.

Has anyone ever been to Southern MD ATV Park? It's kinda expensive but for one day it might be worth it. They have 300 acres and a bunch of trials. I drove into it a few years ago when they were brand new and it looked fun.

there are too many places around here. Driving to MD to pay is kinda silly...

I guess if you want it to be legal its a bit different though.

My ATV isn't running at the moment, otherwise I'd certainly be in. Something electrical, 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 450, haven't had a chance to dig into it.

There are some places up around this way, nothing legal though.

I love breaking the law but i don't want my ATV impounded by the fuzz or a trespassing mark on my record. I'm currently going through the process of becoming a Federal Employee. I can't risk messing that up.

In my experience there are a lot of places you can ride. You will see "no trespassing" signs but it seem people put them up so they can't be held liable if something happens to you. In the few occasions I've had people approach me about riding on their land they said they didn't have a problem with it as long as I'm somewhat respectful about it...

I rocked that trail on my RM-250 and on the Raptor700!!! Edinburg is lots of fun, especially at the bottom parking lot, with that nice long gravel road!!! Get some speed on those bottom trails!!!!

I'll be down to go very soon, most likely when it opens up in March, let me know!!
