Good Car Mechanic? - April 15, 2010, 06:20 PM

I have a Mazda Speed 3 and it's making a noise and not running very smoothly. I just moved out here so I don't know any good mechanics. Can anyone recommend me someone good?

My buddy has a speed3 that he has highly modified. He takes that thing apart all the time and knows that model of car inside and out. There is a very good chance he can help ya out.

He has a dashawk and can do some diagnostic testing. If its not throwing codes, the boost/vacuum levels are good, and the A/F is normal, we can look at some of the normal mechanical issues this car is known for.

Let me know your contact info and what you mean noise?

Not sure what he would want to look at it but I can assure you he knows more about that car than anyone in this area.

Let me know.

its my speed3 but iride drives it since ive got a company car, basically it sounds like theirs an exhaust leak, i want to put in my fuel pump internals and put in the step colder plugs. I dont have a garage or any tools really thats why i need somewhere to do this. Also if anyone knows anywhere to dyno tune using an AP.

edit- i would be open to selling if anyone was seriously interested.

Talked to my buddy and he said he doesnt mind looking at it. He thought you may of broke a flex joint or one of the connectors. Worse case, you bent your downpipe and its no longer sitting flush. He rebuilt his fuel pump with new internals and is also running colder plugs. I highly doubt he would mind helping you do the same. Let me know if youre interested, and you all can find a good time to meet up. We typically work on our cars in the garage in his building. You can even hangout while hes looking at it, if you would like but that is not required, just throwing it out there.

I believe you may of seen his car at Allsports a few weeks back. Hes an engineer and has over $50k in his car. He has done all the work besides the custom tuning.

We can put your car up on jack stands and find the exhaust issue. Again, he knows this car inside and out.

My buddy randall's grandfather owns that place. They leased it out to Koreans a couple years ago.
