Good Place to take a girl out on a first date? - April 5, 2006, 01:02 PM

What's a good place to take a girl out on a first Date. Please keep it in the northern Virginia area.
I usually just take girls home from the bar, but now I have to put thought into it, and I don't think she will be too impressed with Tijuana Flats in Ashburn. Well, she might like the food, but not the atmosphere.

in fairfax - coastal flats is nice, as wella s rio grande. both decent bars and good food, and its somewhat classy.

I'm not sure how much you watn to spend on her. Also dinner is dangerous cause if you don't hit it off you have to go through the meal hating life.

if you're willing to drive to alexandria, there is a place called top golf - talk about fun! and there is a bar there too i believe for some drinks. but its just a damn good fun time for ppl who golf and have never golfed.

Dude, I LOVE Tijuana Flats. That place rocks.

Take a look at the Washington Post. Lots of times they have listing of local bands, etc. Usually have stuff in NoVa.

Cemetary/morgue... kidding. Depends on the girl - a show is nice - esp if your friend's band is playing. Work the cliche dinner and a movie.

dinner and movie with Adrian - she's gonna be all

now that its getting warm out, the hood of your car should do nicely

OR

you could try Sala Thai in Arlington - go on Fridays, my buddy and his partner do the music (duet) - you can say hi for me

oh but that means you have to leave Ashburn.

Are you willing to leave Ashburn?

I would suggest something a little bit more out of the ordinary. Make an impression.

Not really into Thai food. I might hit a restaurant in Reston Town Center, and go from there.

I wanted to take her to the shooting range or bowling, but I think the first date has to be traditional. Even thought this is technically the 4th date.

If it's the 4th date in this case I would say the shooting range would be great if she's open to that. It's not the typical date and she might really enjoy it. You've already made the impression if she is still around for a 4th date so this is where you both do things with each other to get to know each other likes and dislikes.

If she really wants a good time drop her off at my place.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. It was just too easy.

If you really want a good time, take her to:

Belga Café: Belgian
514 Eighth St., SE
Capitol Hill
(202) 544-0100

They have awesome mussels and great Belgian beer.

Reston town center is nice, and some stuff to do there too. Old towne Alex is the shit if you want to eat dinner and then hit a bar with a nice atmosphere. Chadwicks by the water is beautiful. Granted it's a ways.

If I wanted to impress a girl, I'd start at 4 take her to the cherry blossoms, leave around 6 head down to dinner in old towne, somewhere nice... then go to a movie at the hoffman center or head to a bar, maybe meet some friends there to provide entertainment. Too much alone time at first can be bad.
