Good Tailor needed - September 11, 2008, 10:25 AM

So I tried on one of my sport coats and my suit this morning just to find out they are to big on me now and need to be altered in a few areas. I am assuming that my other suits are even bigger on me than the ones I tried on today. I will be interviewing for jobs hopefully in the next couple weeks and want to have everything in line.

So now too the question at hand. Back in Chicago I had this tailor that was awesome. I would buy cheap suit and they would tailor it to fit like a custom suit. They have since moved to Florida. Does anybody know of a real good tailor in the area that can help me out.

If he is that good I will drive to Arlington.

I thought about Mens warehouse. however they can be pains in the ass when you go in and all they try to do is sell you a new suit.

Just take it to a local cleaners and have them relocate your buttons...I did that with a few of my suit jackets as they got too big for me...

however I say that knowing that I use the same cleaners that I have used for the last 15 years.

Men's Warehouse = Expensive. Call me - I'll pass the info to you. I've used the same tailor for most of the 25 - 30 suits in my closet...

Nubbin...I was looking for someone to alter my wedding dress and found a lady in Fairfax that works out of her house. She's not expensive and VERY sweet. Let me know if you want her info.

My dad is a great tailor. A little more than 20 years experience. He knows most (if not all) styles of suits there is. Shoot me a PM with your number.

One thing though, is he does not speak English. I would have to translate for you, so you would have to schedule whenever you want to stop by ahead of time with me.
