Google's CEO Unveils & Demos The New Nexus S. Will Have "EZ Pass" Like Mobile Payment - November 22, 2010, 09:54 AM

Right at the beginning of the vid.

It will support NFC chips! That's great. Hold your phone near an item with a NFC chip you can pay for it! It'll be like EZ Pass on your phone.

Or it'll read it and give you all the info and details, probably take you to a video, etc.

This sort of thing has been on phones in Asia for almost a decade now. About time it made it here.

Nah, you have to authorize the purchase.
It's sort of like the Mobile Speed Pass, but it's not a RFID chip.
NFC chips actually contain more robust information on the chip which can be read on mobile devices, in addition to performing transactions.

^yeah that is what I was thinking...walk through the mall and then all of a sudden you've bought somethihng from every store and all you went there for was one Auntie Annies...

video is WAY to long to watch right now...

but wonder what is the ratio of lost phones to lost credit cards????

seems less hastle to get a new credit/bank card zipped to you in the mail than it would be to just get a new phone....

What do you value more? Life or Image?

Come on now... they wouldn't release a product that automatically buys something just because you walked past it.

And... it's already a lot easier to get a new phone than it is a credit card... I can drive to Verizon right now and have a new phone in 30 minutes... But I've gotta wait for a new credit card to come in the mail.

Love 'em or hate 'em... Google really is an incredible company.

Thanks for taking up 45 minutes of my work day.

All you need to watch is like the first 5 mins. Everything after that is basically a discussion on the future direction and outlook of Google and what low hanging fruit they believe they can seize.

Can you think of apps that would benefit from this payment system, vs the current android store payment system?
