Really.. we all saw this coming as soon as the hero 3 went on sale on the gopro website.

Features video resolutions up to 4K, 12MP photos up to 30 frames per second, built-in Wi-Fi, SuperView™ and Auto Low Light modes. Waterproof to 131’/40m.

Smaller, lighter, mightier still.
Capture and share your life’s most meaningful experiences with the HERO3+ Black Edition. 20% smaller and lighter than its best-selling predecessor, it delivers improved image quality and powerful new features geared for versatility and convenience. SuperView™ is a new video mode that captures the world’s most immersive wide angle perspective, while Auto Low Light mode intelligently adjusts frame rate for stunning low-light performance. Combined with 30% longer battery life, 4x faster built-in Wi-Fi and a sharper lens, the HERO3+ Black Edition is the most advanced GoPro yet.

Smallest, lightest GoPro yet.
The HERO3+ Black Edition is 20% smaller and lighter than previous models—making it the most mountable, wearable and versatile GoPro ever.

30% longer battery life.
Featuring a 30% increase in battery life, you can go longer and capture more with the HERO3+ Black Edition.

^^^^ We'll see how true this is!!!

here's a review of the 3+: GoPro Hero 3+ Hands On: A Nice Bump, But Not a Huge Jump

so the form size is the same, battery size is the same, but the housing is smaller and can only go down to 131 feet vs 197 feet of the original 3 housing. glad to know i can reuse the same batteries!

After having my hero 3 black for almost a year, I really don't use it half as much as I thought I would, mainly because of the huge amount of post processing required to make anything look good.

Upgrade the computer... seriously though. I upgraded mine for that reason and couldn't have been happier. Stuff used to render for hours, now it's about a minute per minute time and I don't even have close to the newest tech.

the sensor is the same, so the quality of the video shouldn't be any better.

Running i7 @3.4ghz, 16gb, SSD, 2GB video, etc. I just never find myself wanting to sit down and do post processing.

So, can you just buy a Hero 3+ case and have the same thing?

So guys, did anyone buy it? What do you think?

I'm thinking of buying the hero3+ black with a tripod to use while I live in europe

I'm hoping it can replace my still shot camera which is a few years old too, so that I dont have to carry mulitple devices but still get good photos

I imagine it would be a PITA to use as a still shot camera and the photos are more on par with a cell phone camera as opposed to a real camera.
