Got a Ticket.. what to do... - September 2, 2009, 10:12 AM

So I got a ticket a while ago and the court date is coming up... I went online today to see how much the prepayment would be.. It took me a while to find my ticket but I finally found it.. Two things wrong with the prepayment page...

1) it says im White-Caucasion (non-Hispanic) which I'm obviously not...

2) My name is spelled wrong.. that's why it took me so long to find it...

Will this get me out of the ticket??

Si, this releases the state from clerical and typographical errors.

Word has it that asking for a continuance (sp?) will set the court date back and higher chance that the officer won't show.. just some rumor I heard..

just like the rumor that if you pay extra... va will have to send you a check back for the difference and if you don't cash it they cant close the case so they don't give you points??

Not true. The officers have court dates as part of their regular duty. It's scheduled work time. So instead of:

8AM - 12PM: Write tickets while sitting in cruiser

It's now:

8AM - 12PM: Go to court and screw everyone

It's just like going to work for everyone else and the troopers schedule all of their dates around the time they have scheduled to go to court. A continuance will just reschedule your date to the next date the officer will be there.
