From Great Falls to GW Hospital how to get there? - October 23, 2006, 09:37 AM

Just moved to the Great Falls area over the weekend. Live right off Algonkian Parkway. I have to be at work by 7am. Today I woke up at 6am left the house by 6:15-18am took Georgetown pike to GW Parkway to my job. Got to work exactly at 7am on the bike. Georgetown pike traffics sucks sooooo badly damn school buses.

Any faster ways to get to DC or GW hospital from my location? I am new to the traffic in the area.

Tomorrow I'll attempt to take RT7 all the way down to Dulles Toll Road or RT66.

Great Falls off of Algonkian = Cascades. Cascades = Sterling. You live in Sterling. Stop trying to dress it up redneck. I live in Potomac Station, but that's really Leesburg.

Lots of back roads available to you from where you live. I'm sure Dodge's PM will have all the ususal routes.

at that time, toll road to 66 inbound is not bad at all, FFX county pwky to toll road is pretty speedy at 630ish, I would say if you can get to the toll road by 625, you'll be at GW hospital by 7

If you want a more fun route, turn on to 193, but make a left on seneca across from the gas station - follow for a few miles, then turn right on beech mill at the 4-way stop. Follow beech mill (there's two left turns involved - check the map), turns into river bend back to 193 and make a left. From there you could hang a right on old dominion, head to 123, make a left and head into DC via 123 or GW parkway/key bridge if the traffic isnt bad going that direction.

Hey dodge, can you PM me a back way from 7100/rt7 intersection to rosslyn? (I'm guessing that will be similar to what carnage would use)

how did the back way work out carnage?

Also, what times are optimal for said route

I loved the roads and I was honestly shocked where I ended up at. At first I thought he was taking me to my house, but in reality it so happened to run by my house the shortcut

WTF do I look like mapquest? I would have no idea how to do that route BB unless you want to hit GW parkway? If you go down Georgetown Pike between 6:15 and 6:45 you will hit school bus stops the whole way! Thats just the first cycle of buses!

Hey if I get enough people to go that way I can put in a toll! We need to lay some gravel down around those boulders to keep the mud off the tires!
