I heard on the radio this morning, and i havent had time to research this statement yet, but Jay-Z said he is going to approach P. Diddy (or Diddy or whatever the name is this week) about starting an Emergency Relief Fund to be used EXCLUSIVELY by African-Americans in the event that anything like Katrina ever occurs again.

WHAT KIND OF DUMB ASS IDEA IS THAT!!!!

All I see is that they gave $ to Red Cross. No need to get excited.

Thats good stuff! I had not seen/heard that yet.

Now, I see Celine Dion piping up an awful lot lately. Maybe her husband can lay off the tables at Caesars for like a month and they can give that mil+ to the Red Cross instead of Caesar himself. I hear that husband of hers has serious issues.

Look all I know is that it seems we were better prepared for Andrew 10 years ago than for Katrina. I think it was a big breakdown in communication between agencies... (like the fact that FEMA is part of Homeland Security now), but I also think that although unfortunate race did play a factor in a lot of issues.

I think just as the government is making these people leave their houses now, they could have done it in the first place before the hurricane even hit. It would have saved lives and headaches... a lot of money and so forth. Unfortunetaly no one ever thinks ahead.

On the other hand I still think that if Katrina would have devastated Texas.. Bush would have been all over that!

He probably wouldn't have had to get involved, seeing how Texas is under better management than Louisiana. Hell my nearest 7-11 is under better management than the state of Louisiana.

Florida wasn't under 10 feet of water. Had the levees held, things would be much different.

I wonder how many bikes were destroyed by Katrina... and of them how many riders actually had insurance. I would certainly miss my '05 R6 but a brand new '06 would be sweet!!! ...after that first 600 miles!
