Gucci makes $14,000 bicycle

Gucci on wheels - The Daily

it's all about making something super high priced so fancy rich people will buy it

reminds me of an idea a friend and I had a while back. Re-provision old big brick cell phones ( like ones from early 90s) and charge $1000+ for them. Maybe put some gold and other scheisse on them. Then sit back and wait for step 3 to kick in.

sick

not in the good way

vonstallin October 23, 2012 03:05 PM

looks like a commutter...not even a official road bike.

Lol @ Gucci's "creative director" taking a stock bike, painting it black, putting some stripes on, then calling it good.

Sad reality is that 14k is not a lot of money for a lot of stupid people. :(

okayh October 23, 2012 04:56 PM

Even better...

Go get some cheap ass bikes, paint em black and throw gucci shit and chrome on it, add a TV for good measure, and sell it to hoodrats who think they are special. You'd make a killing.

I was selling my wifes old bike that we had bought from target. It was a schwinn similar to the gucci bike. It cost like 350 new from target and i was selling for 250. I had this guy stressing how it was perfect and that he was coming from PA to pick it up...

I was like my dude... just drive to target and buy it there instead of driving hours for a 250 dollar target bike

LOL
I had a early 90s Giant Hybrid / commuter bike i got for doing the front brakes on my boys chevy.

sold it 10 years later for $75.
I originally had it on CL for $25 and pick up....then for shits and giggles changed the price to $75 and do not shift out of gear....

Had 6 or 7 people waiting to check it out. 1st guy (lawyer just moved to DC) got it a mear 4 hours after listing it.

If you think 14K is "super high priced" you should hit the bicycle trails around DC. :D Quite a few people are riding around on 6K bicycles around here. My buddy has a 10K bicycle just for his triathlons. (not his 'training' bike, obviously. hehe.)

I'm looking at Trek web page and they have about the same number of race bikes priced above 5K as below 5K. Five of them are above 11.5K. :(

And Trek is not the most expensive bicycle brand by any means, just the first one I looked up...

That Gucci bike actually should be priced at 30K and have some silly bling on it to sell to nuveu riche Chinese.
