Should of mentioned, looking for recommendations of what to buy and any suggestions on where, they wont be bought at the same time I assume. Unless there is some good deal, then I will pick them both up.

Specific model in mind? I picked up a sig .380 on gun broker for 499. Selling the laser and should drop in down to roughly 400. Im in love with the gun and wouldnt go for anything else. What kind of carrying are you thinking?

Before ruling out hammer designs, look at the S&W Bodyguard Semiauto and Ruger LCP. Both have shrouded hammers.

Just to add to Bluhokie - don't buy into any of the garbage they want you to attach to jack the price up, especially lasers (pointless IMO). I see people at the range who can't shoot a target five feet away because they are jerking the gun so much because the laser bounces around so much.

For a carry piece, the holster can be just as important as the pistol. Try them both together and get some range time with them if you can.

I was trying to talk her in to S&W M&P 9mm compact. But mostly because I want it. And I would have no problem carrying a .380, in fact I will probably carry and use it more than her.

Ugg did you read my message? I am selling the laser. It came with the gun and was the same price as the base model. Dont need it and planned to sell it the whole time.

Have two buddies with that gun. They use pocket holsters. DAO trigger very small. Has the striker fire trigger with tiny notched sites. I wanted sites so I went with the sig.

Yes, I read it and was agreeing with you. That's why I'm adding to your statement, not detracting from it. No negatives intended there. I'm in full agreement with you.

After a long talk with my former neighbor, my goal is to now convince the girls to go with a sub compact 9mm auto, Ill be taking them out to rent and try a few, including the S&W sheild, and the regular sub com S&W, ruger etc to help them make their decision.

Put the Kahr PM9 and Kel-Tec PF9 in your list of candidates.
