I do believe we have a one armed forum member who races - not an active poster as of late but a member nonetheless

Because you don't need to have something wrong with your legs to qualify as handicapped.

My step-dad has a handicap placard because of COPD. Doesn't take much to take wind out of him.

used to ride with a guy who's left arm was paralyzed. He would strap it to the bars using a weightlifter's glove (velcro), had both levers on the right side one above the other. Watching him ride you would never think anything was wrong... he wasn't one of the fastest, but definitely a solid rider.

There's a one armed guy racing in WERA SE. Another one control riding for STT.

Several paralyzed from the waist down with little outriggers made for slow speeds.

There's a great vid of dirt/sumo legend Doug Henry rockin out on a specially modified 450.

Just cuz part of ya don't work doesn't mean you're dead.

After my 2006 accident I qualified for handicape tags and both my parents have them. I didnt go thru with it because I recovered way better than they anticipated.

I honestly dont know why/how my dad got his but my mom had surgery on one leg and now its only like 20% bendable and she use a cane at times. Both are near 70 yo.

I saw a touring bike the other day with the outriggers that extend down as the rider stops. At least that is what I assumed they were , I did not see him stopping.
