Riding home in the rain ( I really am a rain magnet) on Friday a massive lightening bolt struck and I got shocked through the clutch lever. Was I feeling things or can this really happen?

shocking ride huh...lol...I would say no...might be some static electricity going on but as for the bolt itself? would of tossed you off your bike...if the bolt hit the ground...your rubber tires would insulate you.......i think

been caught in the rain, but not a lightning storm.

I have been close to a lightning strike though when i was a kid. luckily I was on my bicycle (rubber tires).

I felt and heard a lot of static electricity first, then everything went white to where I was blinded for a few seconds, followed by a deafening boom. Its possible that u were really close to where it struck and you felt the static electricity stuff and not the actual strike.

glad ure ok.

I believe that sometimes when a bolt strikes the ground some of the energy fans out. You may have gotten just a little taste of one. I have seen someone get hit directly by a lightening bolt and it would definately have been more than a tingle!!

YES! I was on the sarting gate at the South Park BMX track back in the day when the fence next to it got nailed. Scared us all s###less blew our front tires out and burned some finger tips. It allso took out the gate timer, drop mechanism, lights and about 40 people along the fence got zapped. Not to mention we couldnt hear squat for about 2 hours.
