Dude, at least you don't have to pass a kidney stone. You are saving yourself A LOT of pain with the surgery.

i still have to pass it they are doing a shockwave treatment to crush it up. this is my second one in like 2 months the first one i passed also. Believe me i know what that is all about. i wouldnt wish that pain on anyone. i have to get the surgery so i can pass this one its 1 cm in size anything above 5 mm is to large to pass. but at least i will be on pain killers this time so i dont think that it will be as bad as last time

dang dude! nov 2004 and nov 2005 I passed a kidney stone. the one in 2005 was just shy of needing the surgery. This past year ive been drinking a lot more water and cranberry juice. Nov 2006 is almost done so hopefully ive made it.

The pain involved it beyond imagination. My neighbor told me she would rather give birth than pass a kidney stone.

First time i couldnt get off the bathroom floor, the EMS folks had to pick me up.

Good luck bro and i feel your pain.

UPDATE! i went to my follow up appointment the other week and they took x-rays and wouldnt you know! the surgery didnt work at all! the stone is apperently really dense and didnt crush at all. my doctor was really surprised seeing that he told me that he had the Lithotrypsy machinge to its highest frequency! so i am going under again on the 5th but this time they are going in with a laser to try and cut up the stone. so hopefully this works or they have to do a 3rd "old school" surgery where they cut my kidney open and take it out (lot of risk involved with that one). so i go for the laser surgery on the 5th so fingers crossed this works.
