The house isn't rich.

There's a term in "our" community that we have for that. We call it 'Living Nigger Rich.' It's the affects and appearance of rich, while functionally living to the limits of their means with no planning for downturns and no understanding of the care and means needed to maintain the property they acquired.

- They have the big house - but they can't afford to hire an interior designer / decorator, and it's furnished like they still live in an apartment and got all the furniture from Bob's or RoomStore, or worse, like something out of Scarface's mansion. Gaudy, tacky, and garish.

- They have the luxury car(s), impeccable - gleaming while sitting in driveway, but the lawn and landscaping in the setting is amongst the worst on the block because they only know to 'get the lawn cut' but don't know about the yearly treatment and preparation of the property.

etc. etc.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

Not gonna lie. I am white and some of that applies to me. Interior designer and overpriced furniture are a waste of money imo. All I do is cut my yard, nothing more. I do landscape it however.

Never knew I was hood rich lol.

Yeah, Hood Rich & Ghetto Fabulous became the new euphemism for N-rich.

Either way it's pretty silly. I'd rather have a smaller, comfortably and tastefully furnished home than a McMansion that looks like I never finished moving in.

it's actually a better investment to buy almost as much house as you can afford because the payments will always stay the same however your income should rise. later on down the road you should get a pretty good return on your investment and financial you grow into the house. especially since money is so cheap right now.

I'm well aware of what hood rich is...

This dude also put himself through college, a few times. 600k is also well above the limits of hood rich.

I admire him raising himself up past that, but to say drug money didn't make him rich is dubious at best... and IMO he's sending a mixed message. He tells those kids to not deal drugs, or act violent, etc... but if he didn't, he would've never gotten out of the slums either.

I've known quite a few drug dealers... have never met a single one that said that's what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. They all want to save up enough $$ to say fuck that place, get out, then go legit.. or legit-ish. That's exactly what D did. Good for him, I guess? But do the ends always justify the means? And don't say that you didn't.
