Makes perfect sense for M/C transport.
FWIW, since this is an open forum, I'd blur or block out the license plate.
It wouldn't take much for someone to run the plate - find out where the truck is registered, get an address, and then target it for theft (the van and what's inside).

I think he is trying to lure you in. If he offers candy, scream stranger danger and run.

Yeah I am old enough to know better. Thing is, I just don't care.

Unless you have connections to a cop or insider MVA info, its damn near impossible to get any info off a tag number. I am on the HOA board of my community here in G-burg. I am the guy that gets dead cars, expired tag cars, etc towed. I have a cop liason at MoCo police, and with all the privacy laws on the books they won't even give me... a person w/ alegitimate need to know, any info on a tag number.

You drive around all day with you tag displayed. Worrying about covering it up in a photo is pure lunacy.

Living in the past. Remember this murderer?

The internet plugged his plate no. into a website and had his name and address long before the police & news.

Driving around all day with your tag exposed is fine. Do you know what's inside the truck? Most people would never know..
But he posted his plate / tag on an open, forum specifically for motorcycles - and as you know motorcycles thieves being who they are, like to know their potential target. I thought he was using it as a M/C transporter. I'm sure someone else thought the same.

Just taking basic internetz precaution my friend.

While I believe the OP has zero cause for concern, it is possible to look up peoples information via plate (in most cases it will cost you).
