Help!!! Any Infiniti Service Techs Here??? - June 9, 2011, 09:00 AM

Or anybody with a cousin that works at one for that matter?

I need to get a key FOB programmed and.... Dealer is askin' for one of my kids and a pinky toe just to do this...

Sigh...

Can anybody help me with this?

I have........ no bike.

Don't mean to hack the thread and intention is only to add weight to it.

I have an exhaust leak on my FX35 that somebody could fix instead of dealer, which I hate to go. PM please.

Do you already have the key FOB and just need it programmed? I don't know anyone who can do it but it was cheaper for me to buy a FOB off ebay for $30 (will save you like $150) and let them program that instead of getting both from the dealer.

LOL...

Well, yeah... that's where I am at. Dealer still wants an obscene $112+ dollars just to program the FOB I plan to grab off ebay.

I can see $30 or so, but come on.... An hour of labor for a 5 minute job???

Yes... I am fighting this butt raping tooth and nail here!

I paid $122 for programming in VA. It is straight up highway robbery!!! If you find a hook up, pass the info on.

Let me google that for you

It's really not that hard. You can do it yourself.

Free Keyless Remote Fob Entry programming instructions, procedures for all automotive vehicles

Works for some, but like me I have a feeling you cant for your remote.

Have to contacted local locksmiths? A few can reprogram remotes, still pricey, but cheaper than the dealer.

Have you done this yourself on your infiniti?

In my google searches..... I've thus far found folks having issues with DIY programming the fob's and they only operate the door locks or the trunk but do not start the vehicle....

I think you are stuck with the dealer.
I had to get one programed on my lexus back in the days.

I bet you wont lose anymore keys now, lol
My job charges $200 if we lose out work ID's. 7 years and never lost the badge lol.

Correct. I cannot.

No, I haven't reached out to locksmiths yet... That's next on the list.

Naw, I haven't lost any keys. Just bought the car (used) and it only came with ONE key. Just silly, if you ask me. They want $200 for another programmed key.

I just need a spare key!

What year & model Infiniti do you have? I have done it, without issue, on several newer model Nissan's and the key/remote technology is the same. If you have a 2011 something I can't speak to those.
