Go into safemode w/networking I'll log into your machine if you need me to.

First try going into safemode if it allows you to use your keyboard and mouse.
Try a usb mouse.

WHen was it working last? Have you installed anything recently? Visited any websites like: redtube, youp0rn, p0rnhub,???

put the restore cd in and reboot...also agree with Deep...delete everything and let it rebuild the partitions using that restore/back up cd - granted that means u'll be starting from scrizzatch, and with Vista asking you if it's ok to boot up, is it ok to turn on, you hit enter, "is it ok to perform that function" etc etc hahah you'll be there for a while.

iirc, the user has to create "restore points"

First thing you did wrong was have Vista.

Let us know if the external mouse and keyboard worked.

Are those the only issues you are having? Does it bootup normally?

Try reinstalling the drivers for those things...
