HELP: Rainsoft Filters? What's the deal? no prices online... not much info either - January 10, 2008, 07:07 PM

So I had the local rainsoft company come over and check out my place... overall things aren't that bad but they could be better. He suggested I purchase a Rainsoft EC4 OcyTech (OxyTech 150) for $3500. He also quoted me $425 for a "203" pressure tank, and $450 for a 50 gallon water heater.

What really bothers me is that I can't find any info online about the oxytech unit other than what rainsoft has put out. There are no prices, not many opinions (except the opinions of those working for rainsoft) not even much on forums, etc.

Can anyone tell me what the retail price is for one of these units? What they usually sell for?

Any info is appreciated.

[Edit]
The hardness of my water is 4
Total Iron Content is 3 PPM
Dissolved Iron 2 X 5 ... 10
Suspended Iron 1

I also have hydrogen sulfide gas

Let me take a shot in the dark here......World Wide Water & "Roy Roy The Waterboy" right?

I have a Rainsoft water system. You won't find much out there about them other than what thier dealers tell ya, So here is my opinion on the $6,500 system they put in my house 4 years ago (Yes my water is that bad. Neighbors is worse) Oh well! get it WELL?

Rainsoft RAWKS...World Wide Water sucks ass! But Roy does call the systems right based on your needs. He is an expert and his intentions are good. He owns the company and unfortunetly his office staff just sucks when it comes scheduling any maintenence service calls. They get way overbooked because he is the only Rainsoft Dealer in the region.

But with that said, I love my system. Cured my awful water, as well as several of my neighbors. We are all on wells but there are many different veins. My closest neighbor has to add bleach to his water to kill the bacteria. He has a totally different system than me. That's why Roy comes out and does tests. He has lived here all his life and knows the water in this region like nobody else. He knows what system you need and how to custom design it for your particular water problem. As for price.....it is what it is. There is no deal on Rainsoft Systems and you must get them from a Rainsoft Dealer. The system is expensive because it is considered to be the best. In my opinion I agree.

Hope that helps
