Hey dirt riders - local VCHSS race this Sun the 25th - September 19, 2011, 09:19 AM

Race For Vision

Our dirtbike club has the honor of hosting a VCHSS race this weekend in King George, VA. If you've been wondering about racing a hare scramble, come on out and give it a try.

You do need AMA membership ($39). You will need a transponder ($25, if you turn it in after your race, you'll get $15 back). VCHSS/District 13 membership costs $15 but is not required unless you want points which this late in the season, who cares. The entry fee is $30 for A/B/C, $25 for Mini/Youth and $15 for the Horizons (peewees). Gate fee is $5 per person, camping is an extra $5 per vehicle

Only gear requirements are long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots, helmet and goggles.

Class and race time info can be found here:
VCHSS Classes

Or if you just want to come watch Donovan tear it up, he's in 200B and races the Main Event at 1:30 PM. Come find us on the starting line (#469 on a KTM 250 SXF; usually the 8th row) and say hi! We're usually on the line around 1. If you come out earlier in the day, our RV and trailer (avatar pic) will be parked in the water tower area near the entrance.

I need to get fast in the dirt! If it was closer I would definitely come by and watch, good luck!

If my KTM was crapping fork oil I'd say you could take that one haha

Sidenote: I think Travis from Go-Race is going to be at this one, we were talking about flagging for the races he goes to and he said not this weekend because it was 5 hours away

Donovan's 150R doesn't have brakes. And he needs the 250 to not be crashed for his own race.

Yep, Go-Race will be there and will probably be doing work on Sat. I believe Allen from Dual Sport Armory (DSA bought out ASR Suspensions) will be there, too, and he can do fork work as well as suspension work. And that big KTM might be a bit much... although there is a guy who races a KX500.

Better not let him ride it then.

I'm gonna order a seal kit this week and get it done, my room is in full on garage mode right now

I'll probably hit up DSA this winter to talk about converting this bike to be street legal

He crashed it yesterday while working on the race course, sheared off both bolts for the radiator and blew a fork seal. But he was also practicing his stop/turn/go stuff yesterday (stoppie, swing the rear around, take off into a wheelie... yeah, watch him try to join up with E-LOC and the 540 Boyz) so that probably didn't help the fork situation either.

From Allen on VCHSS's board in regards to someone needing fork seals:
