My wife hit a man's van on her way to NC a couple weeks ago. In slow traffic she went to make a lane change, did a head check over her right shoulder and when she turned her head back straight again, the van in front of her had stopped. She swerved right but... Her driver's side mirror hit his tail light an broke it and scuffed the paint a little. The police were called, but no report was made since there was no personal injury. Insurance information was exchanged.

I called the guy to ask him not to contact my insurance company so that I wouldn't be paying for this for the next three years due to insurance points being assessed to my record. He agreed and went and got and estimate. It came to approx. $630.

So, my question to you is can I have the money please?

LOL! Nah, I'm kiddin' .... Unless you gonna do it.

Nah, the question is when I go to give this dude the money, I plan to have him sign a receipt and get that notarized at a bank. Can anybody tell me, is there any particular wording or a document of some kind that I need to use to prohibit him from going after my insurance for anything additional after I give him the money? I need to know that I give him this money and get him to sign the receipt and have it be done and over with.

Holla at me!

Word, I'm waiting to hear from her...
But what about the part where my co-worker mentioned that it's just an ESTIMATE and can end up being more than that.... Does that sound right to y'all? What's the likelyhood of the dude just takin' the $630 signin' off on it, and leavin' me and my insurance rates alone?
