Historical Tax Rates - January 14, 2013, 09:50 AM

Getting that tax time is starting up, this is a neat little graphic to show you what you would have been taxed historically.

Check your US tax rate for 2012

Government wins!

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527

Whats the point?

The Federal government has no incentive to balance the budget and reduce spending. If the effective tax rate was 50% on the top 2% it wouldn't make up the deficit.

It is time to start collecting from everyone. Some percentage, no matter how small, from everyone.
