Hollywood is Bootlegging Hollywood - May 18, 2012, 10:19 PM

How does one company bootleg a movie that hasn't even come out yet. Like this....

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527

lol.. looks like a complete ripoff of "Battleship"..
Why does Hollywood always do that?
Every time some new movie comes out, there's always at least 1 other almost exactly like it coming out at the same time.

More than that... another alien vs BATTLESHIP movie....

Its like someone wanted a script written for Battleship and then a different script was used. The loosing script was picked up and produced anyway...

Old news.....Hollywood always does this no matter the genre.

Dantes Peak - Volcano (volcano movies...both came out around 97')

Armagedon - Deep Impact (Meteor gonna hit earth)

Bugs Life - Antz (animated movies about the life of bugs)

Finding Nemo - Sharks Tale (animated movies about fish)

Biker Boyz - Torque (bad bike movie and REALLY craptastic bike movie)

All of these movies came out within about a year of each other.....some came out within weeks of each other. Hollywood always does this. Part of it stems from the fact the ideas/concepts for films are shopped around to multiple studios so sometimes one studio hears another one green lighted an idea and they think they may be missing out on something.

Gotta say though, after watching the trailer this feels like a SYFY network film rather than a theatrical release film. Pretty much all the people in it are C maybe B list stars at best (Mario Van Peebles???? Carl Weathers???...these are your big names?!?!) and the effects look decent but not Hollywood quality.

At first I thought maybe it was a spoof, then decided it was not spoofy enough, so it is just a bad movie.
