Friends set up. We brewed last night. My set up is a little less advanced, but I still do all-grain batches.

All grain is where it's at. I'm not quite there yet, this is my "brewery"

The first and best piece of advice I can offer you, is to not use an electric stove for your boils. Our stove is electric and we never got it up to a rolling boil when it came time. Get an outdoor burner like the ol' "bayou classic" and hook a tank of propane up to it. You'll get better and more consistent results, and the beer will taste like it's intended to. It wasn't until I started reading more about all-grain that I became aware of how important proper temperature is.

I started where you're at, but quickly started spending money on better equipment, and went from extract brewing to now all-grain. Aside from a gas burner to better control your temperature, I'd highly recommend some forced oxygen, for aerating your wort once it's cooled. We picked this up for our last batch, and it's worked great. Oh, and spring the extra $2 for the liquid yeast smack packs. Keep it up and good luck!

Our last all-grain at mash in right before we sealed it up.

Yup. Already getting a gas burner, that stove wouldn't even bring my wort to a boil last time. Had to bring the pot out to the grill, get it boiling and then bring it back onto the stove where it maintained it. For aerating, I just dumped my wort between to buckets a few times.
