HVAC Techs? Quick question - July 21, 2009, 09:41 AM

My upstairs AC went out and is still under builder warranty. After three service calls to determine if the problem was the circuit board or the blower, they settled on blower.

Fast forward to the fourth visit. They came out to fix the blower and said they did not order the blower specific to my unit, but they had a "rescue blower" that would work. They installed it and it works. My question is, a rescue part to me sounds like it's a used part salvaged from another condemned unit. Am I right or wrong? Should I insist on them installing OEM or just let it go?
