Cool I need a new contract. Anyone need a DHS/DoD-cleared SharePoint Admin/Trainer? - August 12, 2011, 12:29 PM

Gang,

Just wanted to throw this up and see if anyone has any leads. I'm a contractor for TSA, and our contract ends in 18 days. I'm mainly a SharePoint Admin/Trainer, but I also have helpdesk and some server experience.

I have two degrees in IT and Business Management. I have certifications in SharePoint 2007, SharePoint 2010, Server 2008: Active Directory, and Security+. I developed all SharePoint training material / courses for TSA and have taught hundreds of students how to use it - effectively. I do front-end stuff. I do not know much about programming or SQL.

I have experience and clearances with DHS and DoD... just need a new contract. I just moved myself and my family down to Woodbridge, so anything at Quantico or Ft. Belvoir would be sweet. Or Pentagon / Pentagon City, etc.

If any of you know of open contracting positions, tech recruiters I can contact directly, etc.... it would be much appreciated. PM me please.

Thanks!

- Mitchell

Gang,

Thanks for all your Private Messages! I send some of y'all my resume and I hope it finds its way into some recruiter's (or better yet - hiring manager's) hands.

Thanks for all the support so far, and here's a quick *bump* for anyone else who sees this and thinks they might be able to help.

Thanks!

- Mitchell

Late bump. Anyone know any IT contractor positions in Quantico or Ft. Belvoir? I see a few on ClearanceJobs.com - but just wondering if any of you guys actually out there or on base know of any vacancies, or NETOPS teams that need a trainer / SharePoint guy.

I will check where I am at, but our need for trainers is somewhat limited .

Ahh... Biff. What a character. Always trying to get away with something. I've had to stay on top of Biff ever since High School. Although if it wasn't for him...

Don't know if this is up your alley, but it is available:
Entry Level DBA position open in Manassas

Bump.

I've been at this new company for just over 3 weeks now, and it didn't even take me that long to figure out what a bad fit this is. Not just because they said it was a 5-year contract and I find out that I'm a temp/hourly with no paid holiday/vacation/sick. I was hired as a "SharePoint Trainer" because of my business background and ability to interface with other departments (i.e. translate IT into plain English), yet I've been placed on an Ops team with Engineers/Admins and assigned Tier III tickets related to HBSS, McAfee client, etc. etc. Apparently I was the only one there who got the memo that I was the new SharePoint Trainer... no one else gives a shit.

Can't go back to my old contracting company, they lost the TSA contract. So I'm back at it, with a refreshed resume, looking at not just Ft. Belvoir and Quantico, but anything that seems like I can help with. SharePoint developer positions are plentiful, but I'm an admin/trainer with no programming/.NET experience.

nothing better than being lied to and sold a bill of goods by your employer.
