IDIOT riding a Ninja 650 Tonight around 8:30 - June 9, 2007, 08:39 PM

So I haven't had the bike out in a while and figured I'd ride to my parents for dinner. I am coming home via the scenic route. Compton to 29 to Pleasant Valley. I turn right on Pleasant Valley and get stuck behind Johnny speedlimit, I don't care, I have no where to be and the weather is beautiful. Well, a black Ninja 650 passes on double yellows, me and 2 cars in front of me. So lack of better judgement, I do the same and was gonna give him a piece of my mind. We are approaching the 4 way stop at Pleasant Valley heading North and Braddock Rd. He keeps going, he was going at least 60 through a 4 way stop. Dude, you better thank someone tonight. Did you really I would even mess with you? You saw what I was riding. What were you thinking, your jacket unzipped riding like a retard. Good luck and learn some common sense because you could have really hurt yourself or someone else. Rant over.

I think I'm finally the pussy people always told me I was.

Hmmm. I live in South Riding. I'm guilty of passing on the double yellows. It seems like everyone wants to do 30-35 mp through there. But blowing through the 4-way?!? Never. That person's a friggin idiot,

The idiocy never ceases! I rode out to Kent Island tonight and on my way out here I had a group of 8 or 10 bikes pass me doing a good 130-140 with no jackets, gloves, etc... hands in the air taking up the entire hwy psst.. and I wonder why sport bikes get a bad wrap sometimes..

Bah, that stuff happens all the time up here. nobody but squids and my leather clad ass on the roads around. My girl is always pissed watching these peeps. Wheelies at every light, burnouts all the time. Lots of morons out there. Lets just be thankful that we all are smart about riding.

Well, rolling through a 4-way? Maybe, but blowing through is kinda risky. What if a cager is doing the same thing at the same time from the left or right?

About the passing though, I see no magic in a double yellow line. I mean yeah, the law says I'm not supposed to, but honestly I can think of no moral problem with passing safely on a double yellow. I'm failry risk-averse, but I'm also impatient. I let the road and line of sight dictate when I pass. When I see room, I flash the cager with my brights a couple times to let 'em know I'm coming around. Otherwise I'd spend my whole friggin' life caged up behind surrender monkeys going 25 in a 30. If someone honks or flips me the bird or says something about it, I just smile and wave. Then I'm gone.

HAHAHA Its so funny you brought this up because I was riding the same road last weekend going to help a buddy move some sh*t. Just like you, I get stuck behind a cleaners van and a pickup. Well it was f*cking 90 degrees and 35 mph while im in my leather just wasnt cutting it. Everytime I tried to pass there was either oncoming traffic or a hill so I stayed put. Finally I hit that stretch right before the intersection. Mind you Id never ridden that road before, but I saw the stretch and took it. Im riding at a good clip and see a car turning left up ahead. No big deal. He has plenty of time to make the turn before we cross paths. Well turns out it was a 4 way stop intersection!!! FACK!!!! That stop sign is nice and hidden. I had to grab a whole bunch of brake. I made the stop and had to chill for a minute and let my ass cheeks relax.

But in my defense, I know how to ride, and I didn't run a stop sign.

I think it's ironic that we justify breaking the law, but get vehemently upset about a cop disobeying departmental policy.

If they agree to stop writing me tickets for breaking the law, I'll agree to stop getting upset when they break departmental policy to satisfy their egos
