Thumbs up Im going under today... - August 7, 2007, 09:02 AM

So in my quest to quit smoking...I've decided to try hypnosis. I hear good things and bad things. Good things from those who were ready to quit and made a commitment to it. Bad things from those who weren't quite ready to quit in the first place, and never did any follow up.

My appointment is today at noon with one of the best Dr.'s in the country...he has written something like 25 books, and has quite a few degre's too.

http://www.hypnomas.org/hypo-ansari.htm

Thats the link to his page if ya wanna check him out.

I'll definatly post a little update when I get back this afternoon.
Wish me luck!

Hahahahahahaha! I hope that doesn't happen! But then again, he did get a promotion out of it!
Tanya, it isn't too expensive, but not cheap either. There is a $100.00 non-refundable deposit done by CC. Then $495.00 is billed to you after your first appointment. And you can do payments as well.
I broke it down, and I spend just under $1700.00 a year on cigarettes! So to me, its well worth it!

Congrats on trying to quit. Something that might help, stop going to the place where you used to buy them. It will help clear out the "routine" of buying them. Good luck!

My mother did this. Worked for her, though part of the hypnosis was to feel nauseous whenever she smells cigarette smoke. She said it seemed like no big deal at first, but think about how often you just catch a wiff of some cigarette smoke...

good luck

Kicking any habit is mostly mental. But if you THINK the hypnosis is giving you an edge or it actually does give you the strength to persevere toward your goal - so be it.

Hypnosis helped a very good friend kick smoking - cold. So I say. Go for it!

Every time you light a cigarette, tag a drag and then put it out on your hand.

I bet you'll stop smoking soon enough.

Im back!! And I can PROUDLY say that I made it from DC (Georgetown) to South Riding without smoking!!
I chewed the hell out of some gum, but I really didnt have the desire to smoke! I played with the pack that I left in my purse...I even pulled one out of the pack, but it stunk! The thought of lighting up made me feel like shit, and even started giving me a headache. So I put it back in the pack, put the pack back in my purse and kept going.

I have another session on Friday, and I am really looking forward to going. It was soooo relaxing. Afterwords I called Paul to let him know how it was, and I could barely find the words. I left feeling so relaxed, yet full of energy...like right after a really good stretch. It was nothing like you see on TV, or the movies. I wasnt in any trance, didn't feel sedated. I guess the only way I can explain it to anyone with kids is: you're taking a nap while your little one is home.
You're half asleep, but awake and aware of everything thats going on.

I go back for a follow up on Friday, and I am sooo looking forward to it!
I wonder if you can hire a personal hypnotist? That was better than my xanax
same effect, no side effects!

SWEET! Looking forward to the update on Friday!
Why does it take more than one session?

The $595 is a flat rate.

I could have 10 sessions if I felt I needed them. Its guaranteed for life. If ten years from now I started smoking again, I could go back. No cost to me what-so-ever.

I dont have to go back on Friday. Most of his patients quit after the first session and never feel the need to go back. Personally...I need all the help I can get
Im still doing good though! (hahaha I know its only been 4 hours since the last time I smoked...but Im proud of my baby steps!)
