Cool I'm one of them now, I own "toe shoes" - April 19, 2011, 12:03 AM

I'm sure you all have seen them, the shoes that look like toe socks but have rubber on them and are worn without socks. After seeing people wearing them I decided to buy some Vibram Five Finger Shoes...Bikila LS to be specific. These things rock lol, maybe I will actually get back into running.

if you do decide to start running in them, find a group in your area specifically for barefoot running. start off very slow and ease into it

These ones are supposed to be running specific but so far I haven't tried anything more than a short little huff up a hill. The tread on the under side makes these ones specific to running. Oh and these ones have the little pull string with a clip.

lol ya I can definitely see the need to start off slow... i'm trying to remind myself not to slam my heel down (like normal shoes make you do) on everything and walk more naturally

I bought them at Blue Ridge Mountain Sports while I was down in the Blacksburg area but up here there are plenty of places too. Try Vibram's website and it gives a whole bunch of places but basically it just needs to be a specialty outdoors shop.

Potomac River Running also carries them.

I'd probably be safe in saying any of the running specific stores in the DMV area would, too. Maybe even Dick's Sporting Goods, too??
