66% woot.

random fact: the spelling of "unabomber" is actually incorrect, the original FBI file was "UNABOM" (for university and airline bomber), therefore, "unabomer" would be the correct spelling, and was often used before the more mainstream "unabomber" was taken over by the media

"Unabomer" is as much a corruption of the UNABOM case name as Unabomber.

And if you type Unabomber in to Word, the spellchecker will capitalize it for you. We all know that Microsoft is the final authority on spelling.

But back on topic: The message here is that Al Gore is a FREAK, and not the kind you wish your girlfriend was. (I thought that was spelled phreak, but Microsoft disagrees)

phreak originated in the 70's/80's to describe hackers (using a definition of hacker somewhere between the original "harmless, and a good programmer / device maker" to the current "bad guy starting viruses and stuff") that were primarily interested in the phone system--phreaking (from PHone). The original phreakers were primarily interested in "what they could do" and exploration (Captain Crunch, etc) not causing malicious harm.

Early hackers in the late 70's-early 90's who manipulated the tone-based telephone switching systems to get free phone calls.

If you remember the movie "Hackers" there was a good example of phreaking in there. Drop $5 in quarters into a pay phone and record the tones it makes. Hang up and get your money back.

Next time you want to make a call just play the tone into the phone and you'd have free phone calls...

Famous hackers went by names such as "Phantom Phreak" for their handles as well.

75%

The last one is awesome. The only reason I got it right was because I heard a report the other day speculating whether Gore would become a late-entrant in the 2008 race. The commentator said that it's unlikely because Gore prefers policy to acting/politics.

Damn, sorry for posting the answers too! (deleted)
Though I scored high, it was more attributable to good guessing.
If I may opine, both of them are cracked, as the quiz suggests.

he didn't really spell it incorrectly, he used an archaic spelling (e.g. about 110 years too late there danny boy)
