iphone, bluetooth, headsets - March 4, 2009, 07:42 AM

Any of you iPhone owning riders solved the issue of a bluetooth headset (answer calls while riding etc).

I've seen the around the neck motorola headset that I believe some have had luck with, but just wanted to know if anyone else had other solutions.

I heard this product "works":
http://cgi.ebay.com/Bluetooth-Adapte...3%3A1|294%3A50

But at the same time, the last product like this that did work.. i'm told Apple made it "not work" with one of their firmware/software updates.

Thanks for any info

*sigh*

Hfam just asked somethign very similar.

Go here for lists and reviews of good bluetooth helmet sets: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...h-intercom.htm

The iphone will do bluetooth in hands free and headset profile, which means it's low quality mono sound. It won't do A2DP profile, high quality stereo sound, without an adapter like the ebay one you listed. you still need an a2dp compliant headset to listen to music, and if you want to talk on the phone it needs to be a more bike specific one so the mic can be mounted in the helmet. the motorola around the neck one will work fine for listening, but not for talking, as the microphone would by hanging halfway down your chest when trying to talk form a helmet on a moving bike. They do make a helmet adapted for that motorola unit, but I believe the whole line has been discontinued, and there are much better units out there.
