So Apple is finally supporting it, now it is time for AT&T to come along and rape me for additional fees.

It's still a better solution then unlocking a broadband card and yanking my SIM every time I want to "tether"

I can't wait for this to happen. I was looking for a new phone when I heard that there was no tethering initially

11:27AM "What about the rest of us? iPhone OS 3.0 will be available this Summer (JUNE). A free update to all of our iPhone 3G customers. And it works on the original iPhone. Now the hardware has changed between these two devices. For instance, A2DP and MMS won't be available on the iPhone 1st gen. It's also available for the iPod touch... for $9.95."

Tethering is $65 for Blackberry's and has a cap of 5GB per month. I have their data connect plan. And believe me you don't want to go over. i went over by a GB the first month they tried to charge me $500. Needless to say I called with my "concerns" and the charge was removed.

Correct, they state in the contract that anything over 5GB (tethering or not) and they are allowed to charge you extra BUT it also states that you can also cancel the plan right then and there if this were to happen. So basically, if they send you a bill and you call them up make sure they think you'll drop the contract if they try to charge you.

I'm looking forward to 3.0!

Now I have unlimited data access on my phone how are you going to charge me because I'm using my unlimited data access for my computer via use of my unlimited access phone? Therefore basically being double charged.

Look in your ToS, there is something stating that you can only use THAT device for access. If you tether something to the connection you are breaking the ToS and therefor liable for their insane charge-you-out-the-ass penalties.
