Iron Man 3: 3rd Installment of Iron Man movie - June 1, 2012, 04:12 AM

THis looks to be interesting....straight from 2009 Ultimate Marvel Universe Patriot armor we see that will show up in this movie....but no Norman Osborn since Fox have the rights to the character.

Set Photos Confirm Iron Patriot Armor To Be Featured In IRON MAN 3

New set photos confirm that The Iron Patriot Armor will be gracing Tony Stark's newest solo movie Iron Man 3, but it's not Stark who will be the one wearing the suit but a character played by James Badge Dale.

from geek world...

Quote:
Just so we are clear on the Patriot Armor and Norman Osborn...

The Patriot Armor was a Model 29 Iron Man Armor (or close enough to it) that Osborn found in the Stark Armory at the Avengers Towers after the H.A.M.M.E.R formation. Osborn took the armor, and re-painted it America style, and changed the Arc Reactor piece into a Star Shape, which Takes less energy to use, but is weaker than its previous form.

SO The Armor is indeed Starks, just stolen by Norman Osborn.

With all that said, Im sure the appearence here i prolly just gonna be Tony Stark showing off at an expo or publicity stunt, representing America in a radical sense and stuff. You know how show boaty and stuff he gets.

looks good!

Captain Ameri-Iron Man ... meh. Not excited.
Hulk Buster Iron Man suit, that would be exciting.

You have to read the Comic series...that was some of the best stories ever durring the Ultimate Dark AVengers run. It all started with Civil War storyline....

It really is good reading....

Iron Patriot was born from that story....then Dark Avengers.

Norman osborn basically was put up to run a Gov sanctioned avengers team. He pretty much selected villians who had powers like the heroes and did covert shit pretending to be good guys.

If you remember Captain America was just killed off so Norman took tonys suit and designed it look represent a Captain America style suit. Good ass story man...

Quote:
SuperHeroHype has confirmed that Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 will feature the red, white and blue Iron Patriot armor. What is uncertain, however, is exactly who will be wearing it.

The armor made its first appearance in 2009′s “Dark Avengers” #1. Following the events of the “Secret Invasion” crossover, Norman Osborn was mistakenly heralded as an American hero and tasked with leading a group of government-sanctioned Avengers. Taking the technology from Stark Industries, Osborn designed his suit to represent the then-recently-deceased Captain America.

Because the character of Osborn is a Spider-Man villain and the rights rest at Sony Pictures, it’s pretty much a certainty that a different character will be donning the suit in the upcoming film.

Now in production in North Carolina, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton and Jon Favreau. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.

the last suit is the Mark 7 from Avengers....hmmmm wonder what they have in store for the next suit.....

Funny how this is building up like the comics with all the suits of armor. I also wonder if he so call repair each suit or build an exact copy for display.

Ok just like the comics we are building up...a sneak artwork shows what Tonys next suit of armor will be.

The extremist was one of the most technically advanced suits Tony created. (look up what makes it different)....This go round we get the Next gen suit...its like going from a carburated 84 corvette to a 2012 fuel injected Ferrari.

Its called the Bleeding Edge Armor....story linked...

This shows the glimps of the Bleeding Edge Armor.....
It makes sense since someone have a copy of the Patriot Armor. No need having a suit thats only one level above.....

all of his Armors can be seen here.

Iron Man Armor Model 37 - Marvel Comics Database

Iron Man Armor Model 37

Deemed "bleeding-edge", this armor was created as Anthony Stark essentially reinvented himself and the armor. Being called an upgrade to Extremis by Mr. Fantastic, Tony Stark corrected this comment by saying, "Nah - this is what comes next".

Notes
Known weaponry includes repulsors, uni-beam, pulse bolts, and an energy blade. Defenses include deflectors. Other type of weapons and upgrades seems to be created by Stark's imagination, such as a boxing glove.

Tony suiting up.
Added by ADour
This entire armor is kept inside Tony's body until mentally commanded in which it manifests itself as the Iron Man Armor. The armor is made up of Nano-Machines that can now be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark's skin. For example, the nano-machines can turn into clothes, other armors, or even different beings completely, by having the nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to. It can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The armor and Stark's own transhuman body are powered by the high-yield arc reactor mounted in his chest. The high output of the arc reactor has greatly augmented Stark's intelligence and provided him superhuman-level multitasking and learning capabilities.

Out of Tony Stark
Added by ADour
Unlike earlier armors, this new armor does not appear to rely on motors and servos for motion. Instead, the nano-machines create a second layer of artificial muscle over Stark's body, upon which additional structures are assembled. This also enables the armor to self-repair and be almost invulnerable as the armor is capable of transforming and healing itself, by having the constantly replicating nano-machines replace anything that is lost or used, as long as the power output from the arc reactor isn't interrupted or terminated.

Meh, not liking the direction of the nano-machine armor.
Some of what lent some degree of believability to the movie was that it uses technologies we can associate with and more importantly, the suit and the man inside could be damaged and their were some physical limitations in terms of packaging and capability.

This new "super suit" sounds like an invincibility shield.

So the arc reactor implanted in his chest is feasible. Fighting off an alien horde with a norse carpenter that can ride a rainbow bridge and not be called gay seems at least semi-realistic. A gigantic green rage monster wearing the stretchiest pants on the planet is plausible. Nano machines are where you draw the line? This isn't a documentary, its a comic book.

Pacemakers use small nuclear generators as their power source
My point is, the endearing part of Tony Stark (and Bruce Wayne) vs. the other characters you mentioned is their technology is somewhat based on and close to reality.
It's nearly feasible - just an extrapolation.

Granted, War Machine firing off 8,000 rounds in the last movie - umm, where the hell do you store that let alone compensate for the weight and fuel burn needed to move that much weight around?

That being said; Arc Reactor is to Pacemaker as Repulsor is to Rail Gun.

But mind controlled, mechanical nano-bodies on a body that can spawn clothing, disguises, or an Iron Man suit over his skin upon thought impulse, all of which can self repair damage is to ???

And I've seen that trick already; we call them Venom and Carnage.
