IRS help needed - September 11, 2009, 11:54 AM

I have a friend that is in need of some help with some IRS problems. I had an attorney to help me with my problems but he is in Chicago and cant help out here. I was wondering if anybody knew of any good affordable tax attorneys in the NOVA area.

Thank you

What's his budget and is he high net worth (i.e. >$1MM in assets)
If high net worth and a solid budget, call Robertson Holland LLP and ask for a consultation.
202-293-3400

If he's less <$1MM and has a average budget call Carl Cook @ Net Worth Financial
202-726-3533

Carl used to work for the IRS before opening his own Financial Management shop.

Say that a client, Neil Madan referred him ...
They may be able to (1) file an addendum to whatever year got him jammed up or (2) refer him to a solid tax attorney who'll be less than Robertson but probably an ex-IRS guy like Carl.

Actually - your Chicago tax attorney would be just fine. My tax lawyer is from Florida. IRS is a federal agency, and if a lawyer is licensed in tax court they are good to go no matter what geographic location - unless he has a court date with DOJ and Treasurey sitting second chair - but if he is that far I would think he had a lawyer about 9 months ago.
