I know we have people here who work for Nextel (LadyK - Still love ya) but I have something to say..

YOUR SERVICE IS STARTING TO PISS ME OFF!!

Every day I get several dropped calls. If I hear another "Beep" and on the screen it says, "Please try again." Im going to throw this shizn*t out the window! The service is getting WORSE and WORSE pretty much every day. The ONLY thing that is holding me back from dropping them is their freee incoming calls and the direct connect.... I use my phone a lot!

I used to have Sprint and I switched because a lot of my friends had the direct connect. But I might go back or even switch to Verizon!

FRIKIN FIX YOUR SERVICE!!!

I have the same problem with Nextel, and it's getting terrible. I only ever finish 1/3 calls anymore. I'll have full bars when I answer the phone, and I'll be standing perfectly still, then the call gets dropped. Customer service is getting terrible too, and they aren't even remotely cheap compared to what Verizon has offered now. The only reason I haven't switched is cause I'm stuck with 8 more months on this current plan. I garuntee I'm switching when that 8 months is over. I've had Nextel for well over a year now and it's much worse than it has ever been.

We had to drop them as a company. The coverage wasn't good and the calls wouldn't stay up. We went to AT&T (now cingular).

sprint and nextel are the same company now....

http://www.internetnews.com/wireless...le.php/3448181

It's probably your service (a form of TDMA), it creates timeslots in a digital transmission over a predifined radio frequency to send calls, depending upon the amount of users in the area will define your level of service or the inability to connect pending a slot opening. Sprint is currently using a spread spectrum technology called CDMA that handles calls through greater bandwidth. You may be able to upgrade to a sprint phone without getting cancellation charges and will get a free phone to boot.

Good luck.

I have Nextel and haven't had any problems with it...I also have Verizon as well and I have more problems with my Verizon than my Nextel...go figure!

I think it depends on what area you live in, there are some spots where my Nextel doesn't work or drops calls and the same goes with my Verizon phone...at times one will have signal and the other won't.

If you're in a bad area, just switch the phone!
