Jeep Guys? Question On Buying A Used Wrangler - March 27, 2015, 03:55 PM

Jeeps aficionados, have a question.
Buddy's MDX lease is ending in July and he's been eyeing the Wrangler Unlimited 4-door.

He needs an automatic which I told him would probably limit his choices on the used market, and to to buy 2012 or newer because of the more efficient and much more powerful V6 engine. Cautioned him to maybe wait for another year as I read that FIAT is finally introducing the diesel engine option, but outside of of this I don't know much about Jeeps.

What's generally the best forum for Jeep owners to visit so he can research?

Where would you suggest he look if he wanted to buy a used Unlimited (private party or dealer)?

What's the best general trim level / option package?

What things should he immediately look to upgrade?

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.
