Anyone have any opinions on why Spurrier didnt succeed?

My personnal opinion is that the team didnt buy into his offense and him as a coach in general. Motivation is really important in job performance in any job. Plus a little bit of fear helps. I think Bill Parcells success has a lot to do with the amount of motivation he commands with his experience and personality, as well as a bit of fear.

I think Spurrier had neither going for him to any great extent.

I think at the college level he had alot more respect from his players and they really had no choice but to listen.. With all the talent on the redskins team and they have alot of it, there are alot of players with huge egos and I dont think he had enough respect or balls to discipline people and such. Many players even said there wasnt enough discipline so he probably was feared enough...

bwaaaahahaha!

when I lived overseas, all we could watch were taped games,....
so, naturally I would watch the Vikings, b/c w/Fran Tarkenton,...
they would just win game after game!

then he retired and we came back to the states, here to va, so.....
I started to watch the 'skins, just before Joe Gibbs became head coach...
and they would just win game after game! lol

but tickets were impossible to get and I played hockey in the winter, so....
I became a hard-core Capitals fan and could afford and get free tickets....

now, in BOTH the NFL and the NHL, the players have no 'team-loyality',
get paid way too much, making ticket prices unaffordable for most, so.....

with the exception of motorcycle racing, I no longer watch or even care....
