Description:
This position is located at the PublicSafetyCenter, Fairfax, VA.
Provides personal computer and network support to users. This includes installing and configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting, and providing first-line diagnosis for problems, coordinating help desk problem resolution, user assistance and performing related work as required. Assists the Network Administrator with the management of user accounts, and network resources such as shared drives and printers; installs and configures mainframe access software. Provides technical advice to senior-level leadership.

Minimum
Qualifications:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: graduation from high school plus three years experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of personal computers, network or telecommunications systems; OR an associate’s degree in computer science or related field, plus one year similar experience.

Special
Requirements:

The appointee to this position will be required to satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.

Preferred
Qualifications:

Experience in general network troubleshooting. Installation of IBM 3270 client software. A+ Certification, Microsoft Certifications in Windows 2000/XP and MS Office. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing software and hardware in a Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 environment. Valid driver's license.
