Job Opportunity: File Clerk Specialist - October 26, 2006, 09:29 AM

Let me preface this by saying I'm not sure I posted in the correct forum...

I'm looking to hire a File Clerk Specialist for our Accounting Dept. It is entry-level and very admininstrative. (i.e. filing, copying, scanning, proofing invoices). Ideally we would like someone with a 2 or 4 yr degree (but not required) and some administrative experience. Working for a bank or other financial institution would be a plus. We are looking to pay 31-33k plus full benefits (which includes 4 weeks vacation, full health/dental/vision, tuition reimbursement and a 37.5 hour week). Candidates must be polished and professional. Feel free to check out our website. www.finnegan.com. Some of the duties are listed below.

§ Utilizes knowledge of scanning and database imaging to process and manage daily invoice batches, identifying and correcting data and imaging issues
§ Utilizes knowledge of firm processes and procedures to obtain required signatures and ensure the accurate and timely distribution of accounts payable checks
§ Maintains familiarity with vendor statements in order to review them for accuracy, correct errors and bring issues to supervisor’s attention as appropriate.
§ Utilizes filing system to accurately file accounts payable checks
§ Understands basic accounts payable functions to effectively route hotline calls and sort incoming mail
§ Utilizes knowledge of banking procedures to process, reconcile and enter soft disbursements, ensuring all vouchers and invoices are complete and correct
§ Demonstrates honesty and responsibility to handle and monitor large sums of money and request appropriate cash replenishment levels
§ Assesses reasonableness of disbursement requests, identifies discrepancies and refers to appropriate firm leadership

ALSO: The job is located in Washington, DC - near Metro Center.

p.s. sorry for the formatting issues, I don't have time to make it pretty.
