JOB: selling extra auto parts on ebay - February 10, 2016, 04:31 PM

My company Exotic, Classic, & Muscle Cars for Sale | Flemings Ultimate Garage has a container FULL of the "extra" parts that we get when we buy or trade in cars. Wheels, tires, headers, engines, intakes, interior parts, hoods etc... etc... etc...

We need someone to come and take care of it: identify the part (we can help with that), take pics, write description, put on ebay, follow up on questions, prep shipping etc...

This is not a full time job, but more of a side activity (we are open on Saturdays all day, so could be done on top of "regular" jobs) or for someone that looks for a part time gig.

It's a cool company to work in, and you get to be around great cars.

Drop me a message at leo@JUST LIKE OUR WEBSITE.com.

If you can't figure out the email, don't bother sending me the info.

UPDATE:
Ok so compensation would be 25% of the sale price. Flexible hours, but the idea would be to come in mostly on Saturdays to do the necessary pics/description an shipping for sold shit, and by all means, you can come in more than that if necessary, but we don't care about that so much, as long as shit gets sold

What kind of compensation are we talking about? Hourly? Percentage of sales?

Then again... That's just me.

To answer the questions:

1) A lot of stuff, like a container and a shed both full of parts.
2) I think it's a percentage, but I asked the BIG BOSS and will advise
3) Yes, working here is pretty farking awesome ^_^

If its a % why don't you have one of those ebay shops just do it?

Part identification might be too hard?

You could probably sub out one of those shops employee and have them do it for you on the side on Saturdays so the part description can be ironed out.

Flemmings should have a "You Pick It" Classic Car parts sale event in the Late Spring. Music & BBQ.
Great promotional event to drive foot traffic into the location, build awareness, and bring in revenue.

Just an idea.

We've done it in the past, but honestly it's a lot of work and you don't sell much. And we are at a point now that we have so much stuff that it would be a massive operation to do it. I think it's best to find someone to chip away at it while making money (best incentive). The ebay "valet" program is not an option for car parts, I checked.

25% commission is a great deal! Anyone whose ever been in sales knows this spiff is aggressive.

That's indeed a fat slice, and there are numerous items worth thousands (rims, hoods, origina intake manifolds and carbs impossible to find...), but the thinking is this:

1) better to take 75% of a sale than 100% of just storing it forever
2) if someone does it and makes money off it, he's going to be doing a good job and be efficient

We provide a desk and PC for it too.

Basic rule of business ( and making money in general), a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nuffin'.

I'm almost curious, how much of an undertaking is this? How big is the parts warehouse and has any of this stuff been tagged and inventoried (electronically), or is it rather giant storage shed full of dusty mix-and-match parts?
