Smile June 25th: DC Caribbean Carnival aka DC Carnival 19th annual. - June 20, 2011, 02:17 PM

I have been going to this since the early 90's. Then again I live down the street and can walk to it in 90 seconds.

Its a good time to watch and see and have good food. Bicycles and motorcycles is the best way to go see since traffic will be a monster.

the best part is the Mud truck....

and the black oil truck is somewhat new...

Yerp.
I tend to make it every other year or so.
Always a good time for a few hours so long as it's not plantation hot and humid.

Yes and no.
They are in the Caribbean but they do not consider themselves "Caribbean" i.e. black.

Caribbean is an adjective and noun. It can be used to both describe a people and a region.

Ask just about any PR if they're Caribbean and they'll look at you funny - some may even take it as a slur because in their mind Caribbean = black.
