Crap like this makes me so glad not to have children to constantly worry about. Sorry..I had to vent! WTF kind of society are we coming to?

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (WUSA) -- 17 girls in the same Boston area high school are pregnant. While surprising, that is not the most shocking part of this story.
The principal of Gloucester High School tells Time Magazine the girls all made a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. Joseph Sullivan says he found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless man.
WBZ-TV reports the school normally has four pregnancies a year.
Time reports school officials began investigating the situation after an unusual number of girls came to the school clinic for pregnancy tests. Principal Sullivan says some girls seemed more upset when they weren't pregnant than when they were.

Maybe they couldn't make the soccer team so they decided to have babies instead.

The interesting part is the reason Denyse & I decided not to have children is because we just didnt think we had what it takes to be responsible enough parents. I have acted very immature at times in my life and often just haven't given a crap about others. I truly believe each persons life is precious gift.To just have such a "Oh well lets just have a baby" attitude just sets me off. Each life on this planet is here to make a difference, not just to take up space. To look at it any other way is just irresponsible in my opinion.

Kids today want and parents give. There is no responsibilty taught in school or in a lot of homes. Hey, if it could be bad we'll just outlaw it, legislate the risk out life reather than teach right and wrong.

We have one here who thinks he is entitled to anything he wants. Kid wants to drive a car yet can't use a lawn mower properly. One day I told him to fill up the tank while I went to use the toilet when I returned he had done nothing, couldn't frigure it out. Now, he as seen it done a hundred times, oh, and god forbid he read the direction on the pump. Try to teach him and you that dumbass laugh that makes me want to knock his teeth down throat. Sorry for the rant.

Its not all the parents fault it is society in general that has changed.

Guzz, if I knew now........

not really, the morons just make the news.....

Nothing interesting about raising responsible independant kids with good self esteem is there?

btw, country with lowest teen pregnancy rate: The Netherlands. It has nothing to do with the lack of sex. Kids know about it and will have it (check out the pregnant 10 year olds on Springer some time..ugh), it is all about education and access to the right 'tools'.

I am not responsible but I am also not a breeder! This has the be the most outrageous thing I have ever heard! I hope none of these kids gets to keep the babies!

Guzz, my wife and I don't want kids because we can't stand being around other peoples ILL behaved kids. If we wanted kids climbing all over us and crying around us we would have our own. We also alter our shopping and eating places based on the type of people that frequent the establishment. Take Costco for example, here in Manassas we do visit for a quick item but we are in and out so we don't have to deal with all the unsupervised screaming BRATS that their parents don't pay any attention to. On the other hand the Chantilly Costco has well behaved children who's parents have disciplined them right so there is no screaming or crying kids dancing/running around the aisles and causing general mischief. I honestly believe there should be a permit to have children and mandatory sterilization.
