justanswer.com (OMG WTF) awesome - October 29, 2009, 06:28 PM

all u auto mechs or know-alls lookin to make some cash - check out this site.

instead of taking this beater I'ma get to the shop and be charged $120 to find out why the o2 sensor light is on - I paid $13 and got a full list of diagnostic codes and was told (with pics) how to trouble shoot the shit myself and find the wires to diagnose and how to watch the dash and compare the flashes to the fault code list!!!!!!!!!

It was my first time using the site, and I saw that you had to pay and I was like mn psh F-this...but I read more..and you only pay if the answer to your question satifies you. You can elect to pay $13, 23, or $30...then you ask your question...and depending on how in-depth the question is, your answer may take 5 minutes or half and hour. Mine too 8 minutes.

also - you can ask follow up questions BEFORE accepting to pay for the answer you got...in case you don't understand.

man this shit is awesome!! case in point - I won't pay until I get the car and attempt the answer I was given....if that doesn't work...then I will ask more follow up questions...once it's figured out...I will pay. That's awesome.

all u smartasses and auto mechs can make a killin just sittin on ur couch in ur spare time....

my question was answered by "super mechanic" ASE certified w/ 30yrs experience. All of the mechanic's backgrounds can be viewed and are verified by justanswer.com

it ain't like it's a forum with 5000000 bamas shouting out garage tricks oh wait.......(haha i'm kiddin....everyone here is way smarter than me)

$13...just save me $120 and time...can't beat that. I know i could have taken it to autozone...but like I said...i haven't bought the truck yet and I just wanted to know ahead of time before I buy something I can't use.

a $700 '88 isuzu trooper 4x4 (female owned)....had a newer engine installed in 2005 (documented). transmission is fine.....no sounds/grinding/hard shifting etc etc. Suspension is good.

120 is the norm around here for those of us not on the faves list. I'ma definitely try what he said though. I would like to get the brakes done...u got some names and contact numbers?

He said other people were adding tags to his thread, which I thought I took away. So I wanted to make sure. And sure enough, he added the tag to his own thread then blamed other people on it.
