Kids Lacrosse Trainer - February 23, 2010, 10:09 AM

So I put together this idea to not only make money doing something I am very passionate about and achieved in, but to use what I have been given to help kids of all ages in this area excell in Lacrosse as well as good health.

I am starting a 1on1 or small group lacrosse trainer/coach who meets your child at your desired location like an in home personal trainer. I have not seen this offered really, especially for lacrosse. This service includes kids who have never touched a lacrosse stick and want to learn, 1st year players, kids looking to play in HS, as well as kids trying to play in college.

I am 23 and a graduate of Wingate University where I was a 2 time captain on a conference championship D2 team. I was an All American at Hayfield Secondary in Alexandria, VA. I was recruited to many D1 schools including the Naval Academy. I have worked with children all my life and currently coach a new to basketball 9-12 year old basketball team.

Please if you know anyone who might interested please forward my email to them. Prices are negotiable at this point. I have the actual flyer I will include in the email unless someone knows how to post it here.

Thanks. I have emailed a few head coaches I know to spread the word. Seems like an untapped niche, especially in this area.

Played since 4th grade thru soph year college(vt club actually played too). In previous summers I used to help run a camp with about 200 kids.

Good luck with the program, it is much harder then you would think.

I have done 1 on 1 training and from personal opinion its kinda boring. Best to have a small mini camp so you can have drills run and such. Form a scrimmage. Throwing to each other and shooting gets old really fast.

I work about 3 camps a year and usually help with summer leagues. Leagues are good but lack any individual instruction and playing a whole summer with no one teaching you personally as well is a waste of time.

2 sessions a week for an hour each is not bad. There are drills ranging from wall ball all the way to footwork and actual conditioning as I have many speed/strength pieces of equipment I bring with me.

I am hoping if i can get a few kids they will recommend their friends and can have groups of 4 max to work tih depending on skill level.

Drop a proposal at Fairfax High, not to coach there...but offer extra curricular services to those who want it... that'll be a good angle/support to use and have so parents don't think ur a pedo carrying a big stick with a net on it. If you get enough interest, the school may even let you use the field and stuff - and you'll be paid by the parents.

I saw those chubby bamas walkin with their lacrosse gear one day when I was on my way to ffx cycles - they could use some conditioning.

Hadnt thought of that. I need to start hitting up local youth lacrosse practices to pass out flyers to parents.
I have tried contacting local HS head coaches to forward the flyer to parents as well.
