LA Fitness, Woodbridge. Questions - April 21, 2010, 07:35 AM

Ok, so I would like any personal experiences with anyone who has been to the LA Fitness in Woodbridge.

Likes, Dislikes, and all. I like to do a lot of research and see how people like the gym's pluses and how they hate the negatives.

One of the major customer complaints is that people are having a hard time canceling.

Things I know so far. That they are a month-to-month. No contracts. They charge you a first and "last" months rent up front. You have to give a 20 day notice.

Like I said, looking at customer complaints, people have had the most problems canceling.

So if anyone has a membership to them, have had a membership to them, or know the ins & outs of this let me know.

My initial plan was to use a credit card not tied to my main account. Its basically my gym credit card that I use for my BJJ membership too.

My initial reasons for choosing this club was because it has a pool that few people seem to use. Chinn center, Dale City, or Sports and Health has more lanes, but I don't like competing for time with the local schools, swim clubs, etc. sharing a lane with 3+ people is not fun.

I could work out at work, but they have a much smaller gym and less equipment. If I want to swim I got to drive another 15 minutes to swim. Mostly this is a convenience thing for me. Id like to be able to come home relax for a bit then leave out to workout/ swim.

If I did it at work, Id have to change clothes after work and workout or swim right after. Inconvenient especially if I have to come home first. Weekend workouts are out too. Dont want to drive back to Belvoir to swim or go to the gym. But the good thing about work gym/ Pool is that its $70/ year as opposed to $35/month.

Thanks all

I used to be a member at the silver spring, MD gym. It was a decent gym. only prob I had was location. 35 a month is cheap and if u wanna cancel u have to give em a months notice. when u tell em they give u a paper that u have to mail in and thats it. my two cents.

POWER HOUSE GYM ftw! They open M-F 24 hours and Sat & Sun 8am-8pm

When I joined I paid a flat rate fee of $250 and that is good for 3 years! Not a bad deal!

Ive checked them out. No pool though. I need something with a pool. Is that $250 a year for 3 years?

Do they have heavy bags too? I also do Muay Thai

My main thing is needing a pool as well as workout stuff.

i go to LA fitness in woodbrigde too. When i first signed up it was cool, now it's packed. Peeps everywhere. I'm lazy and busy so i don't go as much as i should.
Hot little sara twin and her sis go there too.
.net should take the place over.
Once when i was there there were some young guys/girls talking about sport bikes and how they were afraid to lean. I was going to chat them up but they went to play basketball.
I have 3 day buddy passes. Come check it out before you sign up. You can tag along with Salva and I. PM me if you wanna try out the buddy pass.
