LCSO to Hold Sobriety Checkpoint Friday October 22, 2010 in Eastern Loudoun - October 22, 2010, 09:45 AM

Get your papers ready for the Tax collectors and make sure your registration, inspection, and seat belt is on as they do ticket you for those violations to generate revenue.

LCSO to Hold Sobriety Checkpoint Friday in Eastern Loudoun

Loudoun County, VA: The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, October 22, 2010 in Eastern Loudoun.

The ultimate goal of the sobriety checkpoint is to ensure the roads are safe for all motorists by achieving voluntary compliance with the drinking and driving laws. The Sheriff’s Office designed the checkpoints to raise public awareness and to discourage impaired driving.

The Sheriff’s Office currently conducts one checkpoint per month throughout the year and holds additional checkpoints during the holidays. “Our ultimate goal is to ensure the roads are safe for all motorists by achieving voluntary compliance with the drinking and driving laws,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Steve Simpson. “If you drink and drive, we’re going to catch you,” Simpson warned.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Unit and volunteers from the Loudoun Chapter of MADD will assist with the checkpoint.

Looks like I'm staying put tonight. I'll guess this will either be on the 15 bypass right as you get out of Leesburg or on 15 next to Morven Park.

Thanks for the heads up.

Is there an app that tells you where sobriety checkpoints are under way? If not, there should be. Someone put it together, make loot.

Ya know, Fairfax County posts where the checkpoints are going to be...or at least they did. Eastern Loudoun is a really big area. I live at the most eastern of it and am hoping to go out tonight. I hope the place has sweet iced tea!

Does anyone know if there was a checkpoint last night on 50 west by the 495 ramp? The road was blocked off with cones to one lane and there was a bunch of cops, saw one guy getting arrested. I didn't want to mess with it and backed up to the ramp to 495. Didn't know if he was just pulled over and busted or if it was a checkpoint.
