Lincoln - Unite

LINCOLN is in theaters November 9th, 2012 (Limited) and Nationwide November 16th, 2012.

Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in "Lincoln," a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President's tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.

Wait wait wait, what's this nonsense? Everyone knows Lincoln was a vampire slayer who freed the black slaves because they were being used by Aristocratic vampires as free and easy source of food and lifeblo...

Hmmm... well I guess that sort of could be true too in an allegorical sense.

Nevermind, carry on.

Hmmm will watch. Says it's based on a book I've been meaning to read for several years (wiki paste below). Fascinated by how he could get such strong and divergent personalities to be "on his team". But also says the movie is based on his last few months so I donno

Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln is a book by historian Doris Kearns Goodwin published in 2005. The book is a biographical portrait of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and some of the men who served with him in his Cabinet from 1861 to 1865. Three of his Cabinet members had previously run against Lincoln in the 1860 election: Attorney General Edward Bates, Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase and Secretary of State William H. Seward. The book focuses on Lincoln's mostly successful attempts to reconcile conflicting personalities and political factions on the path to abolition and victory in the US Civil War.

NOPE - I googled that for ya
But, unfortunately, no recordings of Lincoln’s voice exist, since he died 12 years before Thomas Edison invented the phonograph, the first device to record and play back sound.

DDL is a fucking nut case. He completely transforms himself into a role once he accepts it.

Will watch.

I thought that too... But I swear I thought I read somewhere they had something. Maybe just a picture.

No, there are no audio recordings of Lincoln. Audio recording didn't really come around until Edison and his phonograph in 1877.

Looks like this is where DDL got how to do Lincoln's voice.
