Live 24 hrs. LeMans Streaming + Timing :: Massive Race Crash Audi & Ferrari - June 11, 2011, 09:04 AM

Streaming Video of the Race, Links, Classification + Live Camera @ Corvette's Pits all here:
http://globalsportsstream.webs.com/Lemans.htm

(SPOILER BELOW)

Alan McNish (#3 Audi) ran into a slower GTS Class Ferrari (#5 coming out of the pits. It occurred while trying to overtake the #1 Audi in the Dunlop curves - he was screened, tucked in behind the #1 and when McNish popped out to pass on the inside line just as the Ferrari (no fault) was moving down onto his line and didn't know there was as second Audi hidden behind the first. The Audi creamed him - skidded across the gravel and had a massive piroette flipover crash when it slammed into the barrier, nearly going over it and slinging parts into the stands and photographers area.
A stray wheel nearly ran over a photographer. The Audi is completely wrecked. The 58 Ferrari surprisingly only has marginal damage and was able to limp back to the pits.

Damn, someone is quick. This happened <10 minutes ago and the vid is on Youtube.

You kidding me Heist, this happened like 5 minutes ago ....but that was insane, definitely a little to aggressive. Those spectators were so lucky, you can guarantee a fence going up there in the next few months.

Watch the guy in the blue vest. He came within a c-hair of getting flattened by that tire.

the speed guy had some good and very interesting words on the safety of these cockpits that the drivers are surrounded by, how the cockpit "shell" starts in the front wheel arches, and ends right behind the driver, and that everything else is designed to disintegrate on impact in order to dissipate the forces of the crash.

+! to modern safety engineering and materials science.

- 20 years ago accidents like these were sure to result in a fatality.

- 10 years ago accidents like these were sure to result in a driver being incapacitated for quite some time.

- Lately the driver has a few sprains or a broken wrist or leg at worst, but more commonly walks away a bit shaken up and dazed. 30 minutes later he's on TV giving a post-crash interview.

Thank you smart science guys.

I don't think McNish was in too much peril, but the people on the other side of that tire wall should go play the lottery or something

Pretty much. Speed's constant nut fondling of NASCAR sickens me. If it weren't for the internet and pirated channels, we'd be screwed.

if this is something you think that is funny or if you think this is a hoax, you should be ashamed of yourself. i can guarantee if you say that in public, people are going to kick your ass. on top of that, this is the prime reason why men are labeled as arrogant jackasses and you are the leading cause of it all, so next time you look in a mirror, think how much it would hurt to have your eyes gouge out and your tongue sheared off, cause quite frankly, i would do so.

Are you fucking kidding me?!

Audi #1 with Rockenfeller driving just clipped a Ferrari coming out of Indianapolis turn, went skidding off into the guardrail in excess of 120mph and is demolished!

Two Audis done - both trying to over take GT class Ferraris. Now they're down to one car.

What the hell is going on. I've never seen such low levels of discipline from Audi drivers.
