Popped into VA Arms yesterday. They had a good selection of AR's, but almost zero ammo.

Yeah, the firearms sales are slowing to a pace where things are in stock... ammo is still a pain. especially for werido calibers like my AR fires.

Is Blazer ammunition decent?
I picked some up today (literally the only thing I've been able to find lately, in .40) but I'm not thrilled about the aluminum casings.
Read some online reviews about it and most say its decent but not nearly as good as the Winchester I normally fire.

Any one with experience or history with this ammo?

i never fired the aluminum stuff... its still brass in 9mm. You shouldnt have much to worry about with the casings being aluminum unless your chamber is out of spec. If its in spec it should support the case.

And aluminum is nice and soft... so your extractor wont take a beating with it. I dont think you need to concern yourself at all.

awesome. my xd is in perfect condition and has a little ramp work done to it (not a single jam to this day) so I'm hoping it will be fine.
I wouldn't be surprised if ends up being a dirtier round compared to the Winchester.

Thanks for the relief

My Taurus 27/7 .40 likes the Blazer for range fun, dunno if I'd use anything but my 180gr Gold Dots in the house/carry though.

I used to shoot Blazer fairly often before I started reloading, I don't remember ever really having a problem with it.

Another reason to hate Blue Ridge Arsenal. What a fucking mockery. They turned the range into a fashion show/photoshoot. Too bad they didnt accidentally shoot eachother while posing like a trio of douchebags with guns.

Does this mean .300WM is gonna come down to .308 prices now that the military has adopted it?
