Wow. I couldn't tell. It looked like an M14 had an orgy with a Shotgun and AR15.

But it's very cool nonetheless.

Yeah, I had to look closely at the receiver. Would be much more recognizable with a magazine in place - even with the furniture, that profile is pretty distinctive.

Before I moved to the PRM, I was hoping to pick up two M1As - keep one as a straight NM variant for competition, and put the other one in an EBR chassis with a 16" barrel. I guess I am saving some money now.

Juggernaut's Rogue Bullpup chassis FTW.

It's actually a Ruger Mini 14

An M14 EBR would be awesome but probably triple the cost to build. I wouldn't mind having one later on down the road but I certainly enjoy only having to purchase one rifle caliber at the moment.

Dang, woulda fooled me - hard to tell the size. I may need to look into one of these, especially because I like to save my .308 for the bolt rifle. Is operation of the rifle pretty much the same as the M1a?

The Mini 14 was designed after the M14, but with a smaller cartridge.

You can get them pretty cheap in the used market. Look for a recent series though (580+).

https://www.military.com/kitup/2018/...-1911-45s.html

Saw this article on my feed - I was initially excited about the prospect of grabbing a surplus 1911, but at those prices? Yeah right. Rack grade for $850? I can get new for that. It's not like the 1911 is a collectors item. I wonder who is going to buy these things at those prices. I'm waiting for some add with the words "tactical" and "operator" to appear now.

Shot out 1911's for >$600? No thanks.
I can get a new Rock Island Armory for $500.

Shot out? Not likely, they've undergone rebuilds at the Anniston armory before being packed in crates over 20 years ago.
